AFTERCARE
Follow these steps for the best healing results.
Day 1 – Tattoo Day
Covering
The artist will cover the new tattoo with a special protective film or waterproof membrane. This covering protects from bacteria and infections.
Covering Duration
Keep the film on for 1–2 hours (or as directed by the artist). The film allows the tattoo to start healing, protected from the outside environment.
Washing
Once you remove the film, wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and clean hands. Do not rub the tattoo – gently pat it dry with a clean paper towel.
Moisturizing
Apply a small amount of tattoo-specific cream and spread it evenly. Repeat 4 times a day for the next 15 days.
Days 2–3
Washing and Moisturizing
Clean the tattoo 1–2 times a day with lukewarm water, gently rubbing with your hand to remove the old cream. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel, then apply a thin layer of tattoo moisturizing cream. Do not overapply the cream, as excess product can clog the skin and cause irritation.
Burning Sensation and Redness
You may feel the area around the tattoo is slightly warm and red in the first days. This is normal and will gradually subside.
Avoid Tight Clothing
Wear loose clothing to allow the tattoo to breathe and avoid irritation from friction.
Days 4–6
Peeling
The tattoo will begin to peel. This is completely normal and part of the healing process. Avoid pulling or scratching the peeling skin, as this can damage the tattoo and cause infection and irritation.
Continue the Washing Routine
Wash and moisturize the tattoo 4 times a day. During peeling, be careful not to overdo it with the moisturizing cream, as the skin continues to breathe and heal.
Days 7–10
Itching
At this stage, the tattoo may start itching intensely as it heals. Do not scratch the tattoo, as you may remove scabs, damage the design, or cause an infection. If itching is severe, apply moisturizing cream or gently press the area with clean hands to relieve the discomfort.
Thin Scabs
The scabs that form should fall off by themselves. Do not attempt to remove them, as excessive pressure may cause color loss or damage the tattoo.
Days 11–14
Almost Healed
The majority of the tattoo will be healed, but you may notice small remnants of peeling. Continue moisturizing the area, but in moderation, as the skin begins to return to its normal state.
Brightness
Don't worry if the tattoo looks a little dull at this stage. The skin needs time to fully recover, and the tattoo's natural brightness will appear once fully healed.
Day 15 and Beyond
Full Healing
Your tattoo is almost fully healed. Continue moisturizing to maintain the color and design quality.
Sun Protection
Start using sunscreen with a high SPF every time the tattoo is exposed to the sun to protect the colors from fading.
Reevaluation
If you notice any areas of the tattoo have not healed properly or have lost some color, visit your artist for a free or low-cost touch-up.
